Week 1:

  • Plan a 30 minute meeting with group

  • Read first 11 pages of ARP booklet

  • Complete the policy and procedure memo within 5 DAYS

  • Schedule a meeting with your client (time/location/day)

  • Determine team members dates of availability 

 

During Team Meeting:

  • Create a plan for composing the “team policies and procedure memo”

  • Schedule meeting with client within next 10 DAYS

  • Assign initial research topics to prepare for client meeting

  • Compose interview questions for client meeting

 

Establish Team Roles/Rotating Roles

  • Exchange contact info

  • Create ways to share data and have records of all formal meetings and communication

Creating and Composing a Policies Procedure Memo

  • Each member will work on each section of the memo

    • assign an editor/compiler to put the pieces of each section together

    • designate the editor/compiler for the OVERALL policy and procedures memo

    • complete the strengths/weaknesses assessment + DISC

    • type your name & list your strengths/weaknesses (send it to compiler)

Meeting With Client

  • Notify the client that the project is in motion

  • Make an appointment to meet with your client/target audience

  • Do thorough research on your client/ business

  • Do initial research on the issue proposed by your client

  • Create an interview guide

  • GET APPROVALfor you interview guide from Oesch-Minor PRIOR to your meeting

  • Decide who will attend the meeting with the client (you must attend to earn RISE credit for W231)

  • Agree on what you will wear to the meeting

  • Designate driver(s) for team transportation

  • Assign interview responsibilities

    • Greetings and introductions

    • “Thank you” for meeting with us

    • Note taker (do not record the meeting)

    • Questions from the interview guide

    • Follow-up questions after Client responses (as needed)

    • Clock-watcher (try to keep the meeting to 30 minutes)

    • Handshakes and well wishes

    • Purchase a Thank You card/ get team signatures

    • Mail “Thank You for working with us” card to client
